Over the last few weeks TikTok Shop rolled out a batch of new LIVE selling tools in Malaysia, and they land right in the pre-11.11 window. If you sell on LIVE, or you have been meaning to start, this is the moment to get them configured.

Here is what is new and, more importantly, what to actually do with it. Three things worth your attention:

1. Temporary Listings for Auction. There is now a single entrypoint to create both Buy Now and Auction listings before and during a LIVE. You can do it from the TikTok app or from LIVE Manager on PC, and you can upload images while you create the temporary listing. The big one for anyone running volume: you can bulk upload multiple Buy Now and Auction listings via Excel or CSV on LIVE Manager PC. No more building them one by one while the stream is live.

2. Sell the same product as both Buy Now and a LIVE Auction. Auction now supports multiple channels. The same product can run as a normal fixed-price listing and as a LIVE Auction at the same time. You set it in Seller Center on PC when you create the product, under a sales method called “Fixed price and auction.” There is also a Reserved Quantity setting that locks stock specifically for your LIVE auction, so your LIVE-exclusive units do not get eaten by regular orders.

3. Group Deal and Price Cut. Two interactive LIVE promo tools launching in Malaysia this November. Group Deal lets viewers team up to hit a lower group price. Price Cut drops the price in rounds during the stream. Both are built to hold viewers on the LIVE and push them to act in the moment.

Why the new TikTok Shop launch matters

LIVE is not a side show here. On TikTok’s own numbers for Malaysia, close to 6 in 10 users prefer shopping on LIVE, LIVE sales grew 48% year on year, and LIVE now makes up roughly a third of platform sales. That is where a big chunk of 11.11 demand is going to land.

The new tools matter because they fix the two things that usually break a LIVE: setup friction and dead air between offers. Bulk-uploading your listings means you are not fumbling during the stream. Auctions, Group Deals, and Price Cuts give you a reason for viewers to stay and a reason to buy now instead of “adding to cart and thinking about it.”

TikTok has shared case data on the promo tools, and the lifts are not small. A Singapore fashion seller using Group Deals saw orders per hour jump 134%, LIVE GMV up 82%, and average concurrent viewers up 71%, with Group Deal driving nearly two-thirds of total LIVE GMV. A Malaysian refurbished-electronics seller running Price Cut saw average concurrent viewers up 145%, LIVE GMV up 144%, and show rate up 108%. Those are TikTok’s figures, not ours, and they are from other sellers, but they tell you the mechanics work when they are run properly.

What you can do next

You have a short runway before 11.11. If I were setting a brand up this week, in order:

  1. Build your listings now, in bulk. Use the Excel or CSV upload on LIVE Manager PC to load your Buy Now and Auction listings ahead of time. Do this when it is quiet, not during a stream.
  2. Pick your auction heroes. Choose a few products to run as “Fixed price and auction” and set a Reserved Quantity so your LIVE audience gets something they cannot get from the normal listing. Scarcity is the whole point.
  3. Check your eligibility for Group Deal and Price Cut, then plan a simple run of show: a Price Cut in rounds to hold the room, a Group Deal on your anchor product, a pinned bestseller between rounds, and a giveaway to keep traffic from leaking out.

Here is the thing about new tools: there is always a window where most sellers have not touched them yet. The ones who set up auctions, Group Deals, and Price Cuts before 11.11 will be running a richer, stickier LIVE than the shop next door that is still just talking at the camera with a single Buy Now button.
